About this site
Golf Ball Index is a free, independent database of current and recent golf balls sold in the UK. It lists each ball's published construction, cover material, compression, dimple count, spin profile, colours, approximate UK price and the swing speed range the maker describes it as designed for.
Where the data comes from
Specifications are compiled in our own words and our own structured format from manufacturers' published product pages, spec sheets and press materials, supplemented by reputable public sources where a maker does not publish a figure. Where a figure is not published at all, the entry says "not published" rather than guessing. No review text, tables or images are copied from any other site, and no product photographs or brand logos are used — colour availability is shown with plain colour swatches.
Accuracy and the "data last checked" date
The whole dataset was last checked on 2026-10-30. Manufacturers revise balls roughly every two years and prices move constantly, so treat every number here as approximate. Compression in particular is measured differently by different makers and by independent testers; we list the figure most commonly published. If you spot an error, it will be corrected at the next data review.
What the ball finder is — and is not
The ball finder matches what you enter against published specs: for example, if you enter a swing speed under 90 mph it lists balls the maker describes as designed for speeds under 90 mph. It is not a custom fitting, not advice, and no guarantee that any ball will perform a particular way for you. A proper ball fitting with a professional will always beat a spec table.
Independence and future advertising
This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any manufacturer listed. The site currently carries no advertising, no affiliate links, no analytics and no cookies. If retailer links or adverts are added in future, they will be clearly labelled and this page will be updated first.
Privacy
This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for a short period for security and capacity planning, and nothing else. There is nothing to opt in or out of.
